Melbourne part of Bon Iver album plan

Attention Bon Iver fans. Just days before a new album from Justin Vernon's band drops, the group has indicated something will be happening in Melbourne on Thursday.

On the Bon Iver Instagram account, a total of nine cities have been posted with times, dates and places and no further details.

Among the other eight - which include Eau Claire (Vernon's home town), Berlin, Copenhagen, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Brooklyn and Minneapolis - is Melbourne as the only Australian city.

It is highly unlikely that Vernon, regardless of his musical talents, could be in every city at almost the same time so speculation points to a listening party for the new album, 22, A Million.

The Melbourne event is set to happen at 121 Johnston St, Fitzroy, which is a cafe, on Thursday at 6.30pm.

* 22, A Million will be released on Friday.
