Two men have been charged with sexual assaulting two 14-year-old schoolgirls in Sydney nine years ago.

A 42-year-old Bondi man and a 33-year-old man extradited from Queensland allegedly met the teenagers at Wentworth Point in Sydney's innerwest, and supplied them with alcohol before sexually assaulting them in August 2007.

Police say one of the girls was groomed online before the assaults.

The men were charged with multiple counts of sexual assault of a child, using a carriage service to groom persons under 16 and inciting acts of indecency.

The 33-year-old man, who was arrested in Brisbane on Monday, will appear in Waverley Local Court on Wednesday.

The 42-year-old, who is in custody, will appear in Central Local Court on September 1.
