Two men charged with shooting a Gold Coast man in the face will remain in custody after opting not to apply for bail.

A man was driven to hospital with gunshot wounds to his face at 4am on Saturday, following an incident outside an Ashmore home.

Ricky Eastman, 21, and Daniel Long, 22 are facing a number of charges in relation to the matter - including attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and robbery.

They will return to Southport Magistrates Court on January 31.

Police believe the incident was not a random attack.

Supporters of at least one of the men swore in court when it was confirmed the pair would not be released until at least the end of the month.

They then clashed with cameramen outside the courthouse, repeatedly swearing and threatening them as they left.
