New water bomber plane helps WA fire crews

A new water bomber has strengthened Western Australia's aerial firefighting fleet for the bushfire season.

The huge Erickson Aircrane water bomber, nicknamed Georgia Peach, joins 21 other aircraft that play a key role in assisting firefighters on the ground.

Emergency Services Minister Joe Francis said the aerial fleet dropped more than 28 million litres of suppressants last bushfire season.
