Jason Gillespie says he's yet to be sounded out by cricket officials to join Australia's selection panel.

The former Test paceman and ex-Yorkshire coach has been mooted as a potential candidate for the national selection panel.

"I have been linked to everything in world cricket of late, but nothing at all," Gillespie said on Thursday when asked about the national panel.

Gillespie has previously said he would be open to discussions about joining the panel, which is in a state of flux following Rod Marsh's resignation as chairman last month.

Trevor Hohns is acting as chairman of a panel also including Greg Chappell on an interim basis and regulars Mark Waugh and coach Darren Lehmann.

Cricket Australia say the interim panel may remain in place until Australia's tour of India in February-March next year.

Gillespie, now coaching the Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League, has been touted as a candidate along with former greats Ricky Ponting, Steve Waugh and Mike Hussey.

But Gillespie said his main focus was recasting his plans for the looming BBL competition after losing spinner Jon Holland to injury.

Holland, who made his Test debut in Sri Lanka last August, has been sidelined by a heel injury and is in doubt to feature in the BBL.

"We're gutted for him," Gillespie said.

"He's a quality bowler and a great guy to have around so to lose him, we're disappointed for him first and foremost."

The BBL starts next Tuesday with the Strikers' opening game the following night.
