Shannon Noll has a song ready for Eurovision - and it's all about Australia.

The singer was contemplating his chances of getting called up to represent Australia in the 2017 Song Contest after his marquee performance at Oaks Day on Thursday.

"You never say never with anything like that," he told AAP.

A campaign to see him represent the country last year went viral and led to him earning a place on the Australian jury.

He helped categorise Australia's top choices each night of the contest, an experience he said was "hectic but fun".

Dami Im ended up competing for Australia and came second.

This week Australia was asked to come back to the competition for the third year in a row.

Noll says he's prepared if he gets a call-up.

"I've got a song which will probably be a pretty good representation of Australia," he said.

The song covers topics like Arnhem Land and the Blue Mountains and will probably be his next single.

On Thursday, Noll was a musical guest at the Australian-themed Emirates marquee and sang an acoustic version of his famous Australian Idol rendition of the Moving Pictures single, What About Me to an excited crowd.

"Everyone is mouthing the words," he said, amazed at the staying power of the 25-year-old song.

"It's just a song for the people."
