A search for a man missing to Sydney's northwest after a bush dance party has started its fifth day.

Police and volunteers returned to Lower Portland, near Wisemans Ferry, at 9am on Friday to renew the effort to locate 24-year-old Tiemuzhen Chalaer.

He was reported missing by friends after wandering from a bush campsite on Sunday morning with no supplies or medication for his medical condition.

A team of 40 police officers and SES volunteers have spent the past four days scouring bushland near Lower Portland's Wheelbarrow Ridge Road track.
