NSW man fined over rare monkey heist

A man accused of planning to sell one of three rare miniature monkeys stolen from a NSW wildlife park has been fined $2500.

Jackson George, 23, and his brother Jessie George, 23, both pleaded guilty to being in possession of property of crime after a four-week-old pygmy marmoset was found in a car they were travelling in last November.

Jackson, who had been accused of obtaining the monkey from whoever stole it, was given a a two-year-good behaviour bond in addition to his fine on Tuesday.
