A man who stashed two self-loading Glock pistols, extended-capacity magazines and ammunition inside a large teddy bear ahead of a police raid on his home is set to be sentenced.

A police sniffer dog detected the cache during a search of Imad Warwar's Turrella unit last September and he is due to be arraigned for sentencing in Sydney's District Court on Friday after pleading guilty to several firearms charges.

"The manner in which the firearms were stored inside a large teddy bear does not comply with any legislative requirements for safe storage under the Firearms Act 1996," court documents released to AAP on Tuesday state.

Along with the two unloaded illegal pistols, a black Glock 9mm model 26 and a Glock 9mm model 17, Warwar had stuffed a 34-bullet ammunition clip and 70 rounds of 9mm calibre ammunition in the bear.

The serial number on the model 17 gun had been "obliterated", the documents state.

Warwar was at home with his wife when police raided the house.
