NSW murder accused dies in car crash

A woman who was accused of the stabbing murder of an elderly man has died in a car accident, the NSW Supreme Court has been told.

Melissa Welsh, 32, was charged with murdering Reginald Mumford, 79, in July 2014 at Coonamble in the state's north-west and with conspiracy to commit murder.

Justice Peter Johnson on Friday vacated the Dubbo trial date after being told she died in a motor vehicle accident on July 29.
