The NSW Police headquarters is to be renamed in honour of accountant Curtis Cheng to mark one year since he was shot dead by a radicalised teen outside the building.

Mr Cheng, 58, was leaving the headquarters at Parramatta after work October 2 last year when he was murdered by 15-year-old schoolboy shooter Farhad Jabar, who was then fatally shot by police.

The Charles Street headquarters will be named in honour of Mr Cheng's memory, with an official service to be held next week, according to the ABC on Friday.
