Two men who escaped from a minimum-security prison in NSW's west have been arrested after a month on the run.

The pair, aged 29 and 31, escaped the Ivanhoe correctional centre on July 9, sparking a state-wide hunt.

Police tracked the men to a home unit in the Wollongong suburb of Warrawong and arrested them late on Thursday night.

Both face a number of charges including escaping custody, assaulting a police officer and break and enter.

The men are due to face Wollongong Local Court later on Friday.
