A nurse has told an inquest into the death of asylum seeker Hamid Kehazaei she has no independent recollection of the day she filed forms for his removal from the Manus Island detention centre.

Coroner Terry Ryan is examining the death of the 24-year-old in Brisbane's Mater Hospital from septicaemia in September 2014, two weeks after his first treatment on the island for a cut foot.

Coordinating nurse Laura Zhai conceded on Friday to barrister Stephen Keim, representing Kehazaei's family, that her testimony was based on phone and email records captured at the time she filed forms about Kehazaei needing to be flown from Manus.

The inquest will re-open in February.
