Police nab 29 drink drivers on Gold Coast

A weekend police blitz on the Gold Coast which coincided with the start of the Queensland school holidays has resulted in 29 people being charged with drink driving offences.

Nineteen people were also caught driving under the influence of drugs, while 40 were issued with traffic infringement notices, Queensland Police say.

The three-day operation targeted the Palm Beach area of the Gold Coast with 4200 drivers random breath tested.
