Homicide detectives continue to investigate the suspicious death of a man whose body was found at a shared rental home in Sydney's southwest.

The man, believed to be in his 60s, was discovered dead at the Buist Street residence in Bass Hill by a housemate about 11.20am on Friday.

The man, who is believed to live at the shared home with three others, was last seen alive on Thursday night, police say.

"He was found by another resident at the location. It's a shared rental property," Detective Chief Inspector Glen Fitzgerald told reporters at the scene on Friday.

"We haven't ruled anything out yet ... we are still very early in this investigation."
