Police have intercepted a load of sly grog allegedly bound for the vulnerable far north Queensland community of Aurukun.

Some 30 litres of wine, beer and port was seized after officers intercepted a vehicle during patrols in a remote area of West Cape York on Wednesday, police say.

Three men from Aurukun, aged 31, 34 and 67, and a 50-year-old Hopevale man have been charged with attempting to take liquor into a restricted area and will face court later this month.
