Instead, it's been claimed he took a 1,700 detour to fly from Barbados to Canada - where Meghan's legal drama Suits is filmed - on Sunday night.

A friend said: “He was due to fly back to London with the rest of his entourage but he changed his mind because they couldn’t bear to be apart. Credits: Getty Images © Provided by Trinity Mirror Plc Credits: Getty Images

“It’s a very short stopover as he has a charity appearance in London tomorrow. It’s just another sign of how head-over-heels he is.

They added to The Sun : "We’ve never seen him so happy.”

The pair were last together when the Suits actress was in London three weeks ago.

It's said Harry and Meghan are also planning their first romantic holiday away together.

And while at this stage it’s believed that Meghan will not receive an invite to the royal family’s traditional Christmas celebrations at Sandringham, she recently showed her love for Britain by posting on her Instagram page photos of her pet dog Guy dressed in a Union Jack ‘jumper’.

"For the love of hand-me-downs. This was Bogart's sweater as a puppy. Now it's keeping Guy warm. #puppylove #adoptdontshop #reducereuserecycle," she captioned it.

Early last month, the 32-year-old prince issued a statement in which he confirmed his relationship with the actress but condemned the "wave of abuse and harassment" that has been directed at the 35-year-old.
