A far north Queensland police officer has been stood down over domestic violence allegations.

The 36-year-old senior constable has been charged with breaching a domestic violence order and will face Cairns Magistrates Court on February 2.

He has been stood down from official duties over the incident, which occurred when he was off duty.

It comes a day after a Cairns constable pleaded guilty to a drink-driving charge.

Constable Alice Turnbull, 27, who was stood down from official duties following the Boxing Day incident, was fined $1500 and had her driver's licence disqualified for nine months.
