A Queensland drunk driver has discovered the swings and roundabouts of the law after she was caught with a child's swing set stuck on top of her SUV.

Concerned Logan locals stopped the 38-year-old woman in Woodridge around 3am on Saturday after she allegedly lost control of her SUV.

They say she ploughed through a backyard where a swing-set lodged onto her car roof, before attempting to drive off.

Police say she blew 0.188 - almost four times the legal limit - and are thankful the crash occurred at 3am and not 3pm.

She will appear in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on December 6.
