A man has been charged over a three-month crime spree south of Brisbane, including swiping a family's presents from under the tree on Christmas Day.

Police say the 34-year-old is responsible for a string of break-ins in the Logan area in the past few months, including taking a Crestmead family's haul of gifts on Christmas Day.

Officers allegedly found a large stash of stolen property in his possession. He'll face the Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday on a string of property and drug charges.
