Gold Coast lawyer Brianna Ioannides hopes to return to her career despite being committed to stand trial on drug production charges.

Ioannides made a brief appearance at Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday where she was committed to stand trial on a single charge of producing dangerous drugs.

Police allege she was making a steroid when she was arrested on New Year's Eve last year.

Ioannides entered no plea at Thursday's appearance and said outside court she remained hopeful of resuming her legal career.

"I'm hoping to get my career back on track, be back here working again as a solicitor," Ioannides said.

As well as the charge Ioannides has been committed to stand trial on, the 27-year-old is facing several other drug and breach of bail offences.

Ioannides was arrested five times between November, 2015 and June this year.

She admitted it was confronting to face the court process as an accused, rather than as a lawyer.

"It's challenging, eye-opening, but I'm getting there," she said.

Ioannides will return court on November 10.
