A man wanted in Queensland has been nabbed in NSW after a car crash and a dramatic police chase through Sydney's southwest.

Police say a 47-year-old man was allegedly seen driving a stolen red Subaru on Monday with officers approaching the vehicle on the Hume Highway, Carramar.

The man then drove off by mounting the medium strip and hitting two cars on the highway before crashing into a telegraph pole and fleeing on foot.

After a manhunt with assistance from PolAir and the dog squad he was found hiding in bushes and arrested.

Police said the man was wanted in Queensland for revocation of parole and has been slapped with extra charge including unlicensed and negligent driving and possession of prohibited drugs.

He's due to face Liverpool Local Court on Tuesday
