A Brisbane man has been accused of preying on drunk young men, offering them lifts home but taking them to secluded sites where they were sexually assaulted.

Police have charged the 48-year-old with two sex attacks as part of an investigation into a string of similar crimes dating back 10 years.

The man is facing charges of rape and sexual assault over two attacks on different 22-year-old men - one just a month ago, the other in 2007.

On July 2 this year, a 22-year-old man was drunk and walking home from Fortitude Valley when a man in a car offered to drive him home.

It was 4am and the young man accepted the offer but he was taken to a street in Brisbane's north where he was sexually assaulted.

The victim managed to get away and sought help at a nearby service station.

Police allege the 48-year-old was also responsible for a similar attack on May 17, 2007.

In that case, a 22-year-old who'd been drinking was waiting for a bus home late at night when a man approached, offering him a lift.

The young man was driven to a car park in Brisbane's south where he was sexually assaulted. He too managed to get away and raise the alarm.

Detectives continue to investigate several other similar incidents in the Brisbane area, stretching back 10 years.

They want anyone who may have been a victim of a similar assault to come forward.
