A pilot has been critically injured after his crop duster clipped power lines and crashed in a paddock in southern Queensland.

The man suffered major internal and facial injuries when the plane went down on the property at Callandoon, near Goondiwindi, around 7.30am on Wednesday.

The aircraft crashed after clipping powerlines during an aerial spray, police said.

The man, aged in his mid-40s, was taken by ambulance to Goondiwindi Airport, where he was flown to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital.
