Thieves have made off with an estimated 14,000 packets of cigarettes in a late-night Christmas heist in Brisbane, police say.

A business on Amy Johnson Place, Eagle Farm, was broken into by the culprits using various equipment some time between 10pm on Christmas night and 2am Monday.

A police spokeswoman said officers were called to the scene and believe they saw the thieves' vehicle - a van similar to a Toyota Hiace - however, police are still searching for those responsible.
