Police searching for a man wanted for filming up the skirt of Queensland schoolgirls on public transport have appealed for possible victims to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Adam Pascoe from the Wynnum Child Protection and Investigation Unit said police believed a man had taken inappropriate images and video of several teenage girls around Capalaba, Cleveland and Manly between April and June.

"We would like to speak to anyone who believes a man may have filmed or attempted to film or take inappropriate images of them on either buses or trains," Detective Pascoe said.

"We believe the most likely targets were teenage girls, some on their way to and from school," he said.

Police have also urged anyone who may have witnessed the alleged inappropriate behaviour for assistance.
