A 50-year-old man will face court after allegedly ramming his utility into a police station in the Gold Coast hinterland.

It's alleged the man drove into the side of the Mudgeeraba Police Station via a car park on Friday afternoon.

Nobody was injured although the crash did cause extensive damage to a wall.

The man will face the Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday on charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and being adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, wilful damage of police property, assaulting or obstructing police and driving under the influence.
