Qld snakes slowly emerging for summer

Queenslanders can expect to see more snakes sunbathing in the warmer months, just like the python wrapped around the deck railing at a Sunshine Coast resort this week but there's no need to fear the reptiles.

"We mainly just relocate carpet pythons and green tree snakes. Neither of them are venomous, though pythons can draw blood with a bite," Brisbane snake catcher Elliot Wigram told AAP on Tuesday.

With warmer weather on the way, snakes are starting to emerge from months of the hibernation-like state called brumation.
