The friend of a teenager electrocuted after they broke into a Queensland railyard has been charged.

Police say the 19-year-olds entered the Bundaberg site early on Sunday and Michael Booker died when he touched overhead power lines. It's understood he was climbing over a train engine at the time.

His friend has since been charged with trespassing and he'll face the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on September 2.
