Qld woman charged over failed car jacking

A Queensland woman has been charged over an attempted car jacking in which a motorist was allegedly dragged from her car and assaulted with a chisel.

Police say a 48-year-old woman was sitting in her car in Rockhampton on Monday night when she was pulled outside and attacked.

She suffered cuts to her head and face and was taken to hospital.

The would-be car jacker fled after she was unable to start the car.

A 27-year-old woman has been charged with one count each of robbery while armed and assault occasioning bodily harm.

She is due to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Thursday.
