Rugby league star Semi Radradra's sudden departure and no-show at court for a domestic violence hearing is "sort of explained" by his father's medical emergency, says a Sydney magistrate who will not take the matter further.

The Eels winger was due to face a one-day hearing at the Parramatta Local Court on Monday, but flew to Fiji last Wednesday to be with his father.

An unimpressed magistrate revoked the 24-year-old's bail and ordered an arrest warrant be issued but put on hold until Thursday.

Radradra returned to Sydney on Tuesday night and appeared in Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday before Magistrate Tim Keady.

Mr Keady said he accepted a doctor's letter submitted by Radradra's lawyer explaining that his father was admitted to hospital in Fiji on November 22.

"Ultimately the absence of the defendant on Monday is sort of explained by the medical emergency of his father," Mr Keady said.

"In Australia I would expect more by way of medical explanation."

He said that while the medical emergency did not really allow proper justification for Radradra's departure, he was "not inclined to take the matter further."

Radradra will have to surrender his passport as part of his bail conditions that will continue until the matter proceeds to trial in February.
