Two Queensland teenagers are accused of piling rocks across rail lines in Ipswich, forcing authorities to temporarily halt trains.

Police say a staff member asked the boys, aged 14 and 15, to leave the Booval station around 8pm on Sunday and it's alleged they responded by throwing a full soft drink at workers.

It's also alleged they then walked along the railway line and placed a large number of rocks across three sets of tracks.

Queensland Rail stopped trains on the line while the dog squad tracked the boys who were arrested.

Police have charged the boys with endangering the safety of a person with intent and assault and they will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
