A farmer has died in a tractor crash at a property in South Australia's Barossa Valley.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the property at Greenock on Monday but were unable to save the 62-year-old man, who died from his injuries.

SafeWork SA said in a statement on Monday it is investigating the incident to determine whether there were any breaches of the Work Health and Safety Act.

The death is the 11th work-related fatality in South Australia this year, compared to a total of 14 deaths last year.
