An Adelaide woman accused of causing the death of her four-year-old daughter in a car crash while she had methamphetamine in her system says she wants to change her plea back to not guilty.

Kylie Anne Hie, 33, was charged with an aggravated count of causing death by dangerous driving after the van she was driving ran into the back of a truck on the South Eastern Freeway in November 2013, killing her daughter Charlotte.

Hie, who initially denied the charge, pleaded guilty at the beginning of her SA District Court trial on Wednesday but on Thursday indicated through her lawyer that she wished to change her plea back to not guilty. Hie's lawyer indicated her client would formally apply to enter a not guilty plea before Judge Paul Slattery on Friday.
