Fresh DNA testing using new technology is being considered as police conduct a review of a cold case murder in Adelaide.

David Saint was the victim of a vicious bashing in 1991 and his body was found under bushes in the city's south parklands.

Police believe he was attacked by three men and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

"The indication is that he was the victim of a severe bashing by three men who were seen to chase him across the road to where he was later found," Detective Brevit Sergeant Erin Vanderwoude said.

Mr Saint's nephew Matthew Hillard said his uncle's death was a traumatic time for the family.

"He was a very loyal man. He was always very fair, you knew where you stood with him and family was very important to him," he said.

Mr Hillard said someone must know what happened.

"We hope as a family to bring some closure to this matter. We hope that someone will come forward now. No-one deserves to go through what my uncle did."
