The South Australian government has resolved its long-running dispute with rail workers over a new enterprise agreement.

The government says 80 per cent of workers have voted in favour of the new deal, which includes 2.5 per cent annual pay increases over the next four years as well as backdated 2.5 per cent increases for 2014, 15 and 16.

"We are extremely pleased to reach a resolution to this dispute, which not only satisfies all parties to the agreement but will also provide some certainty to our rail passengers," Transport Minister Stephen Mullighan said.
