Santana announce Aust tour in April

US Latin rock band Santana have announced a tour of Australia and New Zealand.

The group, led by virtuosic guitarist Carlos Santana, last toured the country in 2013 with The Steve Miller Band.

Santana have won 10 Grammy Awards and sold more than 100 million albums over a 40 year career. In 1999, the album Supernatural won a total of nine Grammys.

This year, Santana released their 24th studio album Santana IV which featured the original late-1960s line-up, the same band that performed at Woodstock.

Santana and his band will perform five dates across the country as part of the Transmogrify Tour, kicking off at Perth Arena on April 7.

US rock band The Doobie Brothers will be joining them on the tour.
