Play is set to resume after lunch on day four of the SCG Test between Australia and Pakistan following a rain delay.

Australia remain well placed to push for a 3-0 series sweep but wet weather has stalled their momentum for the second day in a row.

The heavy covers were on for most of Friday morning, although showers have cleared and play will begin at 1.10pm (AEDT) with a minimum 68 overs to be bowled for the day.

Rain washed out a session and a half on Thursday morning.

Pakistan will resume at 8-271 on Friday, still trailing Australia by 267 runs after David Warner, Matt Renshaw and Peter Handscomb posted centuries in a mammoth total of 8(dec)-538.

Renshaw was withdrawn from the match on Friday morning because of concussion, having been struck on the helmet twice during the match.
