Scorchers fined for BBL salary cap breach

The franchise went $5000 over the $1.3 million cap and have received a $150,000 fine with all but $5000 suspended pending five years without further breaches.

"Following a thorough investigation, we understand that this was not a purposeful breaching of the rules by the Perth Scorchers and this has been taken into account for the purpose of fixing an appropriate penalty," Cricket Australia's head of integrity Iain Roy said.
