A second man has been charged over a violent assault in Cairns seven weeks ago that left a 35-year-old fighting for his life.

The alleged attack happened in the car park of the Skills360 Australia adult education centre in the suburb of Manunda on August 26.

A member of the public found the victim unconscious and with life-threatening head injuries as well as breaks to his arms, hands and spine.

He is still recovering from his injuries in hospital.

A 39-year-old man was charged with committing an act intended to cause grievous bodily harm following a police raid on a Holloways Beach home overnight, which uncovered methylamphetamine, cannabis and drug implements.

He's also facing a charge of supplying a dangerous drug, while the woman was charged with drug possession.

Both are due to front the Cairns Magistrates Court on Thursday.

A 30-year-old man was charged with an act intended to cause grievous bodily harm after being arrested over the car park assault last month.
