Second Tas motorcycle rider dies in crash

A second motorcycle rider has died in Tasmania less than 24 hours after a rider was killed in a head-on collision.

The man died in a crash in Lower Beula, west of Launceston, just after 12.30pm on Saturday.

No other vehicles were involved, police say.

The follows the death of a motorcycle rider overnight in a crash in Goodwood about 11pm on Friday.

The 48-year-old man died after a collision with a car that was on the wrong side of the Brooker Highway.

The car's driver, a 36-year-old woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries and police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
