Adelaide Royal Show officials are resisting a bid to hand over documents in the case of a Queensland-based amusement company facing charges over the death of an eight-year-old girl who was thrown from a show ride in 2014.

The company has issued a subpoena to the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society, which runs the show, seeking a wide range of material, but the society has applied to have it struck out on the basis that it is too broad.

The case relates to the death of Adelene Leong, who was on holiday from Malaysia when she died after being thrown 10 metres from the Airmaxx 360 ride.
