Australia have taken an axe to the team that was dismantled by New Zealand for the second and final women's rugby Test in Auckland.

The Wallaroos were humbled by a record 67-3 scoreline on Saturday as the Black Ferns romped to their 14th straight victory over the visitors.

Coach Paul Verrell has made six changes for Wednesday's second Test in the Auckland suburb of Albany after 12 Wallaroos made their debuts at Eden Park.

The backline has been revamped with Sarah Riordan moving from fullback to inside centre and Chloe Leaupepe to make her debut in the No.15 jersey.

Madeline Putz comes into the side on the wing, with Katrina Barker brought into outside centre.

Hooker Ivy Kaleta has been dropped to the bench in place of the promoted Alanna Patison, while Mollie Gray shifts from flanker to No.8 and Ariana Kaiwai and Grace Hamilton come into a new-look back-row.

Verrell said restoring pride was key for Wednesday's match following their biggest loss to New Zealand since 1995.
