Blistering half-centuries from Alyssa Healy and Ashleigh Gardner have helped the Sydney Sixers to a 33-run WBBL win over the Sydney Thunder at Spotless Stadium.

The Sixers compiled 3-164 from their 20 overs courtesy of Healy's 55 and Gardner's unbeaten 52 from just 31 balls, before the Thunder could only manage 7-131 in reply on Wednesday.

Healy, who blasted 10 boundaries in her 38-ball knock, and superstar all-rounder Ellyse Perry, with a run-a-ball 44, set up the Sixers' total with a quickfire 88-run opening stand.

The competition's most dynamic partnership then combined with the ball to claim the first wicket of the Thunder's innings with Stafanie Taylor caught Healy, bowled Perry for 12 in a breakthrough that triggered a top-order collapse.

Skipper Alex Blackwell (31) and Erin Osborne (32) both scored at better than a run a ball, but their contributions weren't enough to claw the Thunder back into the contest.

The Sixers back up on Thursday to play the Hobart Hurricanes at Sydney's Hurstville Oval, while Thunder next face Brisbane Heat on Monday at Rooty Hill.
