One of Tasmania's top insurers is warning of a hazardous summer bushfire season with the first spike in temperatures after substantial statewide rainfall.

Thursday is forecast to reach up to 30C in parts of the island state and with above-average temperatures expected over coming months combined with flourishing vegetation fed by spring rains, RACT Insurance boss Trent Sayers has cited the "perfect ingredients" for bushfires.

"Residents should start preparing homes and properties now by cutting back trees and vegetation surrounding their homes," Mr Sayers said.
