JUST HOW WELL HAS STEVE SMITH BEEN SEEING THEM IN RECENT YEARS?

* Smith's century in Brisbane was his 16th at Test level, with eight of those coming as captain. As skipper his batting average is an imposing 72.34

* Smith has reached three figures in 18.18 per cent of his 88 Test innings. Don Bradman (36.25 per cent) is the only Australian to have posted 10 tons or more with a better conversion rate

* Bradman (28) and Sunil Gavaskar (19) are the only batsmen in the history of the sport to have more hundreds after 48 Tests

* Smith has also scored two tons in pink-ball Sheffield Shield clashes. No other batsman has so many first-class hundreds in day-night games

* This could be the third consecutive 'summer of Steve'. He averaged 94.3 in the 2014/15 Test season, 84.11 in 2015/16 and is currently 64.40 in 2016/17.
