Sydney knife robber to face court

A man will front court after allegedly putting a knife to the throat of a 78-year-old woman in her home in Sydney's southwest and demanding the keys to her car.

Police say the man forced his way into the Lurnea home on the evening of October 31 and after threatening the woman with the knife he drove off in her car.

Following inquiries, police attended a home in Cabramatta on Saturday and after a short foot chase arrested a 30-year-old man who was allegedly found in possession of heroin.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter, robbery armed with offensive weapon, steal motor vehicle and driving while licence suspended.

He was was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Sunday.
