A Sydney man has pleaded guilty to supplying ecstasy to a young woman who later died after the pair attended a music event.

Jordan Duffy, 19, did not appear at Newtown Local Court on Thursday, with his lawyer entering a plea of guilty to supplying a prohibited drug to the 21-year-old woman who died in June.

Duffy is accused of supplying three to four MDMA pills to the woman sometime between 11.30pm on Saturday, June 4 and 2.30am the next day.

The woman died at a Marrickville home several hours later.

Duffy is still helping police investigating the fatal incident, his lawyer Mina Wassef said.

He is due to face Newtown Local Court again on December 8.
