Tame Impala will finish the tour of their acclaimed album Currents at home in Fremantle as part of this year's Laneway Festival.

As the festival goes into its 13th year, the WA band's frontman Kevin Parker said it was one of Australia's greatest festivals on triple J on Wednesday.

The band have been touring overseas since the release of Currents last year, but Parker also found time to co-produce Lady Gaga's new single Perfect Illusion.

"It started out as a career move ... but it just quickly became something so kind of personal and just so meaningful for everyone involved. I'm just happy that it's all out in the open now," Parker told triple J about working with the pop superstar.

The festival, which started out in a Melbourne laneway, will take place in Adelaide, Brisbane, Fremantle, Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland and Singapore.

Fellow Aussie psychedelic rockers, Jagwar Ma will be joining Tame Impala on the line-up alongside a host of international acts including British DJ Floating Points, Norwegian singer Aurora, Canadian electronic duo Bob Moses and English indie band Glass Animals.

Nick Murphy, who recently shed his Chet Faker moniker before releasing the new single Fear Less on Tuesday is also on the line-up alongside other Aussie acts including Gang of Youths, A.B. Original, Ecca Vandal, Julia Jacklin and Tash Sultana.

* Laneway Festival will kick off in Singapore on January 21 and finish up in Fremantle on February 5
