Tas flood rehab five months after rains

Parts of Tasmania still devastated by floods five months ago will be the focus of a new $2 million agricultural landscape rehabilitation program.

Swathes of the state's north and central farming land were left covered in riverbed silt and gouged by raging flood waters after heavy rains in early July and on Friday Primary Industries Minister Jeremy Rockliff announced added assistance.

In addition to the land rehab, there has been a softening of the eligibility guidelines for landowners trying to access disaster relief funds from the federal government.
